Meet the Founder
I’m Jenn Watkins — a kitchen and bath designer, an avid home chef, a busy parent, and someone who genuinely cannot stop thinking about space planning. I started Projects Within Reach because I believe your home should make your life easier, not harder. That your kitchen should make you want to cook in it. That your bathroom should feel like a retreat, not an afterthought. And that the people who help you get there should be honest with you every step of the way.

I’m also lucky to work with Ian Watkins, who brings a completely different kind of expertise to our projects. With a background in firefighting and heavy equipment construction — and having grown up around the trades — he understands how buildings actually come together in a way that most designers don’t. When your designer has someone on the team who knows construction from the inside out, your project benefits in ways that are hard to see on paper but easy to feel in the finished result.
I come at this from a different angle. Before joining PWR, I spent years fighting fires and running heavy equipment — and I grew up around the trades, so job sites aren’t new to me. I don’t just think about how a room looks. I think about how it gets built.
That’s the part you won’t see on paper, but you’ll feel it in the finished space — nothing gets missed, nothing gets guessed at.

Discovery Call
Every project begins with a discovery call — a free, no-pressure chat about your space and what you’re dreaming up. We’ll talk through your goals, your budget, and your timeline, so we can figure out together if PWR is the right fit for your project. No sales pitch. No obligation. Just an honest conversation about your home
Initial Consultation
We talk about your space, your habits, and your budget — honestly. No surprises at step four. Just two people figuring out what your project actually needs.
Initial Design Phase
We pull inspiration, nail down your style direction, and sketch the first layouts. This is where your project starts to have a shape.
Detail Design Phase
Every drawer pull, every grout line, every cabinet depth — this is where the obsessing happens. You’ll see exactly what you’re getting before anything is ordered.
Implementation
Your contractor builds it. I advocate for your vision throughout — flagging anything that isn’t right, pushing back when needed, checking in so you’re never guessing.
Completion
We walk through the finished space together, catch anything that needs attention, and make sure what was built is exactly what was designed.
